Some 600 people resist the eviction attempt in Casa Santa Cruz, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Parque Patricios, where 350 adults and more than 100 children live, in the midst of a mega-operation by the City Police that includes the fencing of all the surrounding streets and the deployment of hundreds of troops. "We are waiting for the justice officer. We just found out that not just one came, but at least there are more than four. There is a huge operation. The park is all fenced," Iliana Llanos, who has been living for 10 years, told Télam. in the building and is the president of the Papa Francisco Housing Cooperative. Sources from the Buenos Aires security force assured that around 500 personnel work. "It is not understood. If they are wanting the families to evacuate peacefully, why are they setting up all this? Or are they suddenly afraid of 131 little children?" Llanos added.
